Alexandra (Alex)––originally from the west coast of the United States––is a Teacher, Naturalist (studies, draws, and writes about Natural History), and an aspiring Kanji Nerd living in Japan.

Alex combines a work background in Science as a former animal nurse, and a Fine Arts education in Printmaking, with writing about and drawing the natural world. Language and the natural world have infinite opportunities for discovery and unlocking new perspectives.

Alex is passionate about making this accessible to everyone.

Can language effect how we think and observe the natural world? By using a Nature Observation Notebook as a means to learn a new language we may be able to widen our perspectives and unlock more discovery and new ways of understanding nature. In this seminar, you will learn what a Nature Observation Notebook is, and some techniques for how to learn another language with it.

Anyone learning another language can benefit from this method, although examples will be given in English and Japanese.
