The Best Dish in The South – Authentic Chicken Nanban You Must Try When Going To Japan.
Portuguese Influenced Dish
Miyazaki is well known as a food-lovers paradise. Chicken Nanban is one of the most popular food in this city. The word “Nanban” was being used by some European traders that means “Soaked European-Style”. This dish is made with fried chicken coated in a crispy egg batter that’s soaked in a sweet and sour Nanban sauce and a lot similar to Escabeche food in the Philippines but this is a Japanese dish version that was first made by OGURA in Miyazaki City, Japan. Ogura’s Chicken Nanban is always served with a side of Japanese tartar sauce using authentic spices and herbs with their fresh vegetable homemade mayonnaise also include shredded cabbage and spaghetti on the side.
The restaurant’s name is Ogura Segashira.
Address: 2 Chome-2-23 Segashira, Miyazaki, 880-0867
Business Hours: 11 am to 10 pm.
The restaurant is very famous in this place. Most people really wanted to visit and try their dish. From my experience, we got there late around 12:50 pm. It was so crowded. We had to wait in line for a table. If you aren’t patient enough to wait for the long queue, I would recommend that you go there earlier to enjoy the fantabulous food.
