A lucky cat named Nami-chan (Imado Shrine)

Weekly Topic: Do you have a lucky charm?

Penguin

There are various lucky charms in Japan. Cranes, turtles, sea breams, and so on. Among them, one of the most well-known is "beckoning cat".  Imado Shrine in Asakusa is famous for its beckoning cats.

There is a white cat named Nami-chan who is said to bring happiness to those who meet her. She is a street cat who appears at the shrine from time to time. It is also said that setting Nami-chan's picture as your smart phone wallpaper will bring you good luck.

If you are a cat lover, why don't you go see her? I’m happy to hear from you!
