課程介紹
In this intensive course, we will train pronunciation exclusively.You will not need more than 5 sessions of this lesson. Original material, including text and sound files, will be provided for you to practice your pronunciation alone too.
I shall guide you to making vowel and consonantal sounds with the correct parts of your mouth and help you master any particularly challenging sounds. Everyone finds some sounds of a foreign language more difficult to make than others, so there's no need to feel bad about just not getting the hang of some sounds!
Intonation, which may be described as the manner in which stress or emphasis is laid on words, is an important component of your style of speech, and we will do various excercises to approach native intonation too.
I shall also give you guidelines on how to pronounce challenging English words with 'strange' and tricky spellings, as well as loanwords from languages such as French and Latin that are often used in English.
At the end of the sessions, you will have all the knowledge you need to practice effectively on your own and completely replace your old pronunciation habits with better ones over time. Acquiring good pronunciation takes some time, and practice is as important as theory for it!
[I recommend leaving 7 - 10 days between each lesson. You should use this time to practice what was learnt at the last lesson by listening to the audio files and mimicking them as often as possible.]
