Choir Exercises are used as test meterial in music high schools, colleges, and colleges of education. Even for students who have perfect pitch have a hard time reading them by themselves. I struggled with it as well.
Furthermore, most universities want perfection, almost to the point of memorizing musical scores.
Most voice lessons won't spend time focusing on these difficult choir exercises, or you might have a hard time doing it your own in time for the lesson.
