Descrizioni
What areas of grammar do you need to improve?
Have you forgotten a lot of the English grammar you learned in high school?
Can't remember the difference between Present Perfect and Past Perfect?
Do you need to understand when to use still/yet/already/anymore?
Don't worry! On this short course we can look at grammar points that you find difficult, grammar points that you are not confident with, or even grammar points that you just want to practice!
If you aren't sure what you need to study, I can assess your ability in the first lesson and suggest which areas of grammar you should improve first.
Examples of grammar points we could study:
- Simple, perfect, and continuous/progressive tenses.
(When do we say "I ate lunch" and when do we say "I've eaten lunch"?)
- Conditional forms
(What's the difference between "I will, if I have time" and "I would, if I had time"?)
- Future forms
(Is it the same to say "I'm meeting him at the airport" and "I'll meet him at the airport"?)
- Modals and semi-modals
(We can say "You don't have to smoke" and we can say "You mustn't smoke", but do they have the same meaning?)
- Prepositions
(Are you 'at work' or 'in the office'? Are you 'on a train' or 'in a taxi'? Should we say "You must finish until 6pm" or "You must finish by 6pm"?)
- Adjectives
(If I see a bad movie, is it 'boring' or 'bored'? Does the girl have 'long black hair' or 'black long hair'?)
- Purpose
(Should we say "I study to improve my English" or "I study for improve my English"?)
- Relative clauses
(Is it the same to say "The guy who lives next door" and "The guy that lives next door"? When do we need to use 'whom' or 'whose'?)
- Articles
(When is it 'a doctor' and when is it 'the doctor'? What's the difference? Why do we say 'Japan' and 'Ireland' and 'France', but we say 'the Philippines' and 'the USA'?)
These are just some examples, if there is another grammar point you want to study, just let me know!
