Understanding what was read
Description
Comprehension is the understanding and interpretation of what is read. But sometimes the written or typed passage is long and quite boring, how to get "over the 'hump" (explanation: pass the most difficult part of a task, project, objective).
Keys to remember with reading comprehension:
(1) decode what they read
(2) make connections what was read & what you understand
(3) think about what they have read.
During your lesson, we review the vocabulary which most reading comprehension tasks provides, once gained an understanding of the vocabulary, you are then tasked to create or develop a sentence with given word and relate to its many different meanings or references.
