I give you a story. You read the story before the lesson. We discuss either the meaning, grammar, vocab (beginners) or the literary aspects (advanced)
课程介绍
This is a lesson for students who want to be challenged.
There are two paths for this lesson that strart in the same way.
1st: Choose one of the short stories listed below or another story you like:
- The Masque of the Red Death (Edgar Allan Poe)
- The Land Lady (Roald Dahl)
- Three Skeleton Key (Georges-Gustave Toudouze)
- A Sound of Thunder (Ray Bradbury)
- The Lottery (Shirley Jackson)
- The Magic Shop (H.G.Wells)
- Rip Van Winkle (Washington Irving)
2nd: Read the story before the lesson. Make notes. Make questions.
3rd: Choose a study theme. (1) Reading for comprehension (meaning, vocab, grammar) or (2) Reading for anaylsis (symbolism, metaphor, culture, history)
4th: Message me which story you have chosen and which study theme you want.
5th: Discuss the story. During the lesson, we will discuss the theme your selected and I will answer your questions. By the end of the lesson, you will have a deep understanding of the story and learn comprehension skills to use in other stories.
