Description
Hello! I'm your tutor Jemima and I lived in Japan for two years working as an Assistant Language Teacher and know how difficult learning a new language can be! I want to support you to learn English. I speak some Japanese and hold a Certificate in Teaching English and also a University Degree.
In these 5 lessons we will talk conversationally. We can discuss your focus and goals in lesson 1. I can give you guidance or corrections of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as we speak or can make notes to give you after. Please let me know what you prefer before we begin.
Lesson 1. Informal conversation
We will have a relaxed conversation in English about any topics you like. We can also discuss your focus and goals for these lessons.
Lesson 2. Guided Conversations
We will talk on specific topic areas agreed in advance or the tutor will use prompt cards, images, stories to spark a conversation. This can be changed to free conversation also if you like.
Lesson 3. Conversations using Australian terms and slang
The tutor Jemima will introduce some everyday idioms or slang Australians use in the conversation. These can be explained and discussed. If this is not of interest to the student we can tailor this conversation to you.
Lesson 4. Conversations in different settings
This conversation can help focus on the needs of the student when talking English in different environments. Role plays can be used if helpful.
Lesson 5. Conversation about progress made and future goals
In this last lesson we will review your progress and highlight any future goals and aims or areas for continued work.
I am flexible and these descriptions above can change according to your needs.
We can also use some texts or images for focus. If you want to discuss Australian slang, idioms, culture or society that's ok too!
Once you have commenced the lessons no refund is available.
All lessons need to be completed in 60 days.
