Description
Phrasal Verbs are soooo important for students of all levels! And they are difficult! I like teaching them because so many students have such great difficulty with them and I am able to ease you into the confusing and baffling world of phrasal verbs in a fun and very informative way.
In the first lesson, you will learn that phrasal verbs do not translate directly and that they have to be considered as new vocabulary. I will encourage you to start a phrasal verb journal to supplement your existing vocabulary journal. I will teach you the grammar associated with phrasal verbs and then I will give you MANY examples, going through each one in detail. You will do various exercises involving the use of phrasal verbs and by the end of the lesson, you will have an invaluable insight into phrasal verbs and you will have a small arsenal of phrasal verbs to use yourself and that you will easily recognise and understand when you hear them in "the real world".
And the next few classes... more phrasal verbs! Simply going through examples in a way that will leave you with a complete and crystal clear understanding, is five or six hours worth of teaching time for the average student.
