Great conversation session. One of the most difficult things with learning any new language is having confidence when speaking and not let it become overwhelming. We spoke about the recent volcanic activity even though my vocabulary on the topic was limited, Saori-sensei and I managed it and I learned new vocabulary. I think it is great that Saori-sensei could explain the words to me in Japanese so I could understand. We used very little English other than when I didn't know the Japanese words, and Sensei quickly helped me to learn the Japanese word. Conversations outside of textbook scenarios I feel is a key element in learning to speak spontaneous and natural Japanese. Thank you Sensei!

Saori is always a pleasure to speak to. In my experience, over this lesson and many others before it, Saori was extremely patient. I would recommend her lessons to just about any student of just about any level of proficiency. My recommendation to anyone interested: find a book you'd like to go through, whether it be a textbook like Genki or literature like I am a Cat, and slowly go through it with Saori by utilizing Skype's screen share feature. Do this a few nights a week, every week, and you'll be amazed at how naturally the language starts to come to you. Saori-sensei has made learning Japanese less or a chore and more of something to look forward to.
