Lesson Pack Details
This is a 3-lesson pack. You will be issued 2 “coupons” when the first request is confirmed. You will be able to use these coupons for subsequent requests in the pack. Please note that all requests related to this pack must be taken within 3 days of the first lesson date.

Improving your vocabuary
In a world where you meet diverse people on the go, it is important to have the right words to make your conversations and write-ups less wordy and boring. Thus, single words that sum up long sentences should be the goal. For instance, instead of saying 'His instructions were straight forward, brief and clearly expressed', one could shortly say ' His instructions were succinct' to mean the same thing. Building vocabulary allows people to have greater command over the English language and express themselves confidently in the right gatherings. One way to improve ones vocabulary is to read wide. Sometimes the context in which new words are found may give clues of their meanings. However, in an internet evolving world, it is easy to find the meaning of new words if one is cluless about them. In this lesson, the following methodology will be used to help students improve on their vocabulary.
Methodology
Lesson 1:
- Three short essays wil be presented to the student to choose which he is interested in. These essays will bear on everyday life issues. They will be sent to the student 2-24 hours before the class so that they can print out their choice before the class.
- The student will be asked to read it to the tutor's hearing while jotting down new words they (both student and teacher) come across.
- Students and tutor will learn the right pronunciations of the words after the reading.
Lesson 2:
- The passage will be read again quickly by the tutor
- The words will be traced back in the essay to discuss their contextual meanings based on the sentences they appear in.
- Students will be asked to put the words in their own sentences to assess their understanding of the words.
- Students will be asked to familiarize themselves with the words after the class, until the next lesson. There will be dictation exercise in the next lesson
Lesson 3:
- The tutor will go over the pronunciation of the new words one more time
- There will be a dictation exercise for the student
- The student will be applauded for trying
Building vocabulary is an infinite activity. This lesson pack is only to teach students how to integrate new words in their daily English usage. Students will be encouraged to continue this activity for improvement.

Cancellation of pack lessons
• 'Unstarted' lesson packs(1) can be cancelled any time. Used Points will be completely refunded. If a 'started' lesson pack(2) is cancelled, you will be refunded 50% of the price of the remaining lessons provided that the lessons are unrequested, unconfirmed or not within 24 hours of their scheduled start times.
(1) A lesson pack for which none of the requests have been confirmed by the tutor.
(2) A lesson pack with at least one confirmed request. (By confirming the date and time for the first lesson in the pack the tutor confirms the pack as a whole and coupons are automatically issued)

Cancelling individual requests in a pack
• If you wish to cancel a single lesson that belongs to a pack but not the whole pack, you can do so via the request page. In this case, the coupon used to book the lesson will either be refunded or collected, based on the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy. Please note that any 50% partial refunds in the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy do not apply to lesson packs and the tutor may choose to either refund or collect the coupon in those cases.

- Cancellation possible at any time without charge.
After request is confirmed (fixed)
- More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
- Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
