In this conversation lesson, we talk about the importance of smiling.
Descrizioni
Smiling is good for you. Some scientists believe that when you smile, you start chemical changes in your brain that can make you feel happier. Smiling is also good for the people around you. Smiles are ‘contagious’: Like colds and flu, we can pass our smiles on to other people. We will be spreading happiness.
This is what we will do in this lesson:-
- We will look at what smiling means in different cultures.
- We will try to answer the question: ‘Do some animals smile?
- We will look at the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa, and ask what makes her smile so special.
- We will also consider three quotations about smiles.
- We will learn the meaning of phrases like ‘broad smile’, ‘warm smile’, ‘tight smile’, ‘grin’, and ‘grimace’.
- We will read a fun poem about smiles by comedian, Spike Milligan.
- We will sing the song, ‘Smile’. It was made famous by Nat King Cole in 1954. It was also Michael Jackson’s favorite song.
