Hello,
Would you like to learn more about American language, holidays, and culture? American English is unique, from our word choices, pronunciation, and cultural practices. It is important to understand these cultural differences to better be able to communicate with American speakers of English.
*** I recommend this class for upper beginner or intermediate English speakers ***
Good Points of Class:
- Learn American cultural practices.
- Listen to native American speakers.
- Learn American idiom
- Learn common American words that are not in traditional textbooks.
- Audio/Listening exercises are included
This textbook is widely available in Japan. However, if you do not have a copy, I will send you each chapter before class. I also show the text on a PowerPoint during the class too. I included additional material to the book.
The class is more focused on speaking about the material and practicing communication, it is NOT focused on grammar.
I give students detailed feedback after the class to help them improve their English.
We also practice improving your American accent. Students find this useful for working abroad, working with foreigners, or planned trips to the USA.
