Lesson Plan: READING & WRITING
Learning Objectives:
- Students will understand the importance of learning English.
- Students will learn the alphabet and its pronunciation.
- Students will learn to form basic sentences in English.
Materials:
- Whiteboard or paper
- Markers or pens
- Flashcards (optional)
Introduction
- Greet students and introduce yourself.
- Discuss the importance of communication and how English can help them connect with people worldwide.
Procedure
- Begin by reading aloud a short story or nonfiction text appropriate for the student's age and ability level.
- After reading the story, ask the students to identify the main idea of the text.
- To help students identify the main idea, a tutor will ask them questions such as:
- What is the story about?
- What is the most important thing that happened in the story?
- What did the author want the reader to learn?
- Integrating writing into the learning process fosters engagement and excitement.
Revision and Feedback
- Please encourage students to ask any questions they may have.
- Provide positive feedback and encouragement.
Conclusion
- Summarize the key points of the lesson.
- Express appreciation for students' participation and efforts.
- Remind students to continue practicing their English outside of class.
