Yes, No, Black, White (A Word Game)
A classic Eurasian word game, fun for people of all ages and backgrounds. Give it a go - and improve your language skills effortlessly!
Description
Whenever my family was stuck in a boring situation (like waiting in a queue), this was one of our favourite games to pass the time with.
The rules are simple, no material is required, and it's a lot of fun! :)

Gameplay

The two players take turns to ask each other questions. The words Yes, No, Black and White are forbidden in the answers.
Each player tries to force their opponent to say one of these words. The questions may be on any topic. Both questions and answers must be grammatically correct (I will correct any mistakes in your sentence composition).
The winner is whoever manages not to say any of the forbidden words the longest. Multiple rounds may be played.

1) Every question MUST be answered - staying silent or giving non-verbal answers counts as losing. Non-verbal answers include saying 'mhmm' instead of 'yes', writing instead of speaking and nodding or shaking the head for 'no'.
2) Alternative words and phrases like 'Correct', 'That's right' and ' I don't think so' cannot be repeated consecutively.
3) Answering slowly is allowed, but a silence of longer than 3 - 10 seconds (depending on the speaker's proficiency) counts as failing to answer.

In my home country of Sri Lanka, we play a version of this game which I personally believe is harder. It's called 'Yes, No, Can't' and the rules are equivalent to those above. We can try this one too, if you like! :)
This game isn't just for mucking about!
It has a clear benefit for language learners of all levels. It forces you to think of new ways of saying a range of things without breaking the rules, which is excellent training for your vocabulary, grammar and general expression.
Why not give it a try? xD
