A current events-based lesson where we read some of the hottest topics going on in today's world.

Reading is an integral part of learning any language. It helps to reinforce the foundations of what you already know and improve and expand on vocabulary, grammar, lexis, and expression.

In this lesson we will read an article together out loud, focusing on things like:

• vocabulary

• pronunciation

• expressions

You can choose between:

• an article of my choice

• or one from three texts sent by email prior to the lesson

You simply need to indicate which of these choices you prefer when requesting the lesson and I'll send you the link(s) with enough time to prepare* the article before our lesson.

*Prepare simply means to read the article, noting any difficulties, vocabulary, or questions you may have in understanding the text.

There is a longer 50-minute version of this lesson that uses longer articles and requires you to go into further detail regarding vocabulary, pronunciation, and expressions.

NO FEEDBACK is provided for this lesson. If you’d like detailed feedback, please click here when scheduling and include the name and date of the specific lesson.

This lesson is offered in Skype audio/video OR audio-only. Please mention AUDIO-ONLY when requesting the lesson if you prefer no video.

Thank you for the enjoyable lesson. For this lesson I picked up the article about a possibility of mutation of corona virus among three articles that Charles sent me in advance. It was a bit difficult to discuss about this topic but Charles’ knowledge helped me understand.
