Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to greet others and introduce themselves in Arabic.
1. Greetings
- Teach and practice essential Arabic greetings:
- "As-salamu alaykum" (Peace be upon you)
- "Marhaba" (Hello)
- "Sabah al-khayr" (Good morning)
- "Masaa' al-khayr" (Good evening)
2. Self-Introductions
- Teach basic self-introduction phrases:
- "Ismy [Your Name]" (My name is...)
- "Ana min [Your Country]" (I am from...)
- "Tasharraftu biliqaa'ik" (Nice to meet you)
3. Dialogue Practice
- Create a short, simple dialogue for students to practice greetings and introductions. Example:
- A: "As-salamu alaykum, kayf haluka?"
- B: "Wa alaykum as-salam, ana bikhayr, shukran. Wa haluka?"
- A: "Bikhayr, shukran. Ismy Ali. Ana min Lubnan. Tasharraftu biki."
- B: "Tasharraftu bika, Ali. Ana Yasmin."
4. Recap and Practice
- Review all the introduced phrases quickly.
- Encourage students to practice with a partner, repeating the dialogues.
5. Conclusion
- Summarize the lesson by emphasizing the importance of greetings and self-introductions in Arabic culture.
- Encourage students to continue practicing these phrases outside the class.
