Description
The lesson commences with a discussion of two quotes on festivals. With a map, the historical migration of the Ewes is traced from Nigeria, Benin & Togo to Ghana. The Teacher leads an interactive discussion on the Origin, Venue, Significance, Rituals, and Celebration of the Hogbetsotso Festival. The occasion reminds Anlos of the display of bravery, sacrifice & endurance of their ancestors. The festival is marked by traditional drumming & dancing. Hogbetsotso Festival is attended by chiefs and large cheering crowds from home & abroad.
