Introduction


Hi, my name is Jonathan, it's so nice to meet you! I have lived in the UK for the past 25 years. I now live in Cambodia with my partner, and enjoy the weather and the coconuts.

My teaching experience

  • I am TEFL certified (CELTA, 2022)

  • I am an experienced one to one online teacher. 

  • I teach children languages, online and face to face. 

These are some of my students in Cambodia!


Teaching approach

  • I work with my students' interests, and make lessons practical and fun. 

  • I like to use teaching materials such as short stories, pod-casts, videos and newspaper articles

  • I am half Japanese, and can explain vocabulary and grammar points in Japanese with reasonable fluency

Subjects and topics I teach

  • Practice listening and understanding pod-casts, videos and newspaper articles

  • Reading and writing short stories and storytelling techniques

  • Professional English for the workplace

  • Specific teaching for IELTS and TOEFL exams

  • English for Yoga and other physical activity instructors

A bit about me

In the beginning of 2023, I moved to Cambodia with my partner. I used to have a comfortable life in the UK with many friends and my two cats, but I decided to give it up for a travel adventure (don’t worry, the cats are being taken care of by my family!). I hope to stay in South East Asia now, as I love the weather and the people. I teach Cambodian students at a local school, and in my holidays I go rock climbing, visit wildlife parks and learn about local culture. My interests include dancing, yoga, teaching children and cooking curries!

This is a friend I made on my travels!

I like to create a friendly, relaxed and focussed teaching atmosphere for all my students, and I look forward to meeting you and discussing your learning goals. I will teach mostly in English but I can help out in Japanese if necessary.
