Hello Students!
Thank you so much for your support and kindness. I am always so happy to see all my students and full of passion when I teach. I hope to bring the joy and excitement of using a new language to communicate.
I am looking forward to seeing you again in class!
★Self Introduction
Hi, my name is Mary Q. I'm from Taiwan and I am now working as an interpreter and a translator in Japan. I was teaching English language and English conversation to high school and junior high school students in Japan for the past 5 years. Teaching has always been my biggest passion, so that's why I decided to continue my career as a teacher on Cafetalk. Because English is not my first language, I can teach English grammar and know the grammar and expressions that foreigners tend to make mistakes.
My major at university was Japanese Language and Literature, but during one of my years there, I studied abroad at a university in the United States to study pedagogy. I had the opportunity to teach Chinese language to my friends there and felt the depth of Chinese culture and the joy of teaching my mother tongue, which made me want to learn more about Chinese language education. That is why I studied Chinese language education in graduate school, majoring in linguistics. During one of the semesters, I taught Chinese grammar and conversation classes at a Polish university as a trainee teacher. Because of my various experiences in education up to now, I have gained experience and am now able to teach both English and Chinese languages.
I believe that language lessons should be more focused on communication practices and not just on grammar learning, so I would like to create as many opportunities as possible to practice conversation, to meet the needs of the students, and to make the use of English and Chinese practical through conversations, both free talk and role-playing. Of course, language lessons are not just about the language, but also very much about the culture of the country, so if you want to learn more about American, British, Polish, Taiwanese cultures, etc., you are also more than welcome!
My belief in teaching languages is to have fun practicing speaking, so let's enjoy learning the language and gradually gain the confidence to speak English and Chinese while having fun exchanging conversation in a harmonious atmosphere! ♪
