Hello everyone! Welcome to my profile! It’s nice to meet you! 
 
My name is Marisa and I’m a native English speaker. I’m from the beautiful, Caribbean, twin-island of Trinidad and Tobago, but I currently reside in Kagawa, Japan.

I am a certified teacher with over six years experience teaching English in Japan. I have taught students of all ages, from kindergarteners to adults - teaching both in the classroom, as well as online lessons. I also have two years experience of volunteer adult literacy tutoring in my country.
 
My hobbies include reading books, listening and dancing to music, watching movies and travelling. I love exploring new places, eating different foods, meeting new people and learning about different cultures. 

I enjoy riding my bicycle through the Japanese countryside and cycling routes. I also especially love visiting shrines, temples and castles in Japan. One of my goals is to visit all twelve original castles! 

Learning a new language can seem hard at times. I know because I’m learning Japanese. That’s why I’m a very patient teacher and it’s ok to make mistakes. I will make corrections to help you improve your language skills. I aim to make learning English fun and relatable for my students, by focusing on your needs and interests which will allow you to feel comfortable, motivated and confident!
