Ciao a tutti!
I'm Valentina, I was born in Siracusa (Italy), a beautiful city on the Mediterranean Sea, full of history, excellent cooking, and sun :)
Now I live in Florianopolis, an island in Southern Brazil and I work as Italian language teacher for adults. I graduated in Literature at the universities of Catania and Perugia, and then frequented courses of specialization for teaching Italian as a second language.
My first language teaching experience was in Budapest (Hungary) in 2010, when I was a Comenius assistant for the European in a college. It has been wonderful: I taught to teenagers in the morning and to their parents too, in the afternoons.
After that, I never stopped teaching Italian... in Brazil I already had more than 40 students of every age in Florianópolis, on skype, in my home, and in a big software company.
I prefer tutor intermediate-advanced learners, because I can share more about my culture.
Since I love talking about Italian cooking, history, arts, cinema, I think this is the best way for my students learn deeply the language and become a bit Italians :)
I like to prepare my own study material, using videos on the internet, musics, and scenes of movies. I suggest to the student what to listen or watch at home, and then I use skype to talk about it (and correct the language if needed, of course).
Why you should choose me as a tutor?
Because I am very friendly and I believe in the strong link between teacher and student: both give and receive. I can give you professionalism, care, trust and a deep experience of Italian culture, language, and way of life.
Because I really love Italian language, and I love to... chat.
So, chatting and have a lesson with me in Italian is funny, because I have fun too!
In my spare time I like to play the guitar (rock music), drawing, running, surfing (yes, I live in one of South America's surf capitals) and I am a former judoka.
Of course I love cooking, so much that wherever I travel, I want to learn a local recipe :)
