Nice to meet you!
On Cafetalk, I offer French lessons that focus on the basics for those who are learning it for the first time, as well as for those who have studied it before but would like to relearn the language.
For my children’s French lessons, I offer lessons to help your child learn French as a native language by following the curriculum of elementary schools in France.
I also offer French lessons for children learning French as a foreign language.
I also offer lessons that use “Charles Perrault’s Fairy Tales” and “The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince),” which can be read in either simple French or in the original texts, as well as lessons to help you prepare for language proficiency exams such as the Test in Practical French Proficiency (Diplome d’Aptitude Pratique au Francais) and DELF.
I have been teaching French for over 15 years, and have also taught English and French as a full-time teacher in junior high and high schools for many years. I would be delighted if I could use my experience to help you learn French as well! I like to work in a relaxed, comfortable pace, so I can focus on supporting each student’s studies by taking the time to get to know them and their needs!

Lesson Characteristics
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
● I understand what it’s like to be a learner.
After studying French as a Japanese student, I went on a short-term study abroad program in Paris when I was in high school, then studied French in France for a year when I was in college, and after entering graduate school, I did a study abroad program for two years for my master’s degree at a French university; thus I have faced a number of difficulties in learning French as a foreign language. During my time in France, I was able to develop my “skills to live abroad” while having fun at the same time.
● I can give you precise advice.
As a Japanese person with a great deal of experience in teaching French to Japanese students, I understand the weaknesses that Japanese students have, such as what areas they find difficult and/or can be a struggle for them.
● I can offer thorough explanations in Japanese.
Especially for first time learners, adult students can benefit from moving through each lesson with a clear understanding of each subject, without being left in a hazy state.
● I can help you with English-French comparisons.
I am a licensed English teacher and have experience in English education, so I can compare the two langauges; English and French, if necessary.
● I can explain about culture and customs.
Culture and customs are a crucial part of learning French. We can talk about culture and customs as needed.
