Hello! My name is Mindy, from the USA, but I have lived all over the world. I love teaching - especially English and cooking.
Having moved internationally many times, and recently moved to Europe from the USA, I understand what it's like to learn a new language and culture. I feel like it's an exciting adventure and look forward to bringing my enthusiasm to teach my students the joys of learning everything from holiday traditions, to food, to specific accents, music, and more.
My first professional teaching experience was as a teacher's aid at the California Culinary Academy. I then earned my CBEST (California Teacher's Certification). Following that, I was a substitute teacher for elementary students as well as a private tutor for English and math.
As far as my cooking skills are concerned, I started at a very young age learning from natives in each of the countries I lived in. After I earned my bachelor's degree in international business, I attended a Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, then became a private chef.
My teaching method approach is creative and centralized on the individual student and their learning style. This means I will teach based upon each student's current abilities and goals. For language that can mean anything from grammar studies, to writing, to business conversation. For cooking that can mean anything from how to properly hold a knife, to meal prep, to cooking a recipe together virtually in the kitchen. :)
