Hello, students!
My name is Julien, and I’m excited to be here with you as an English teacher based in Kyoto, Japan. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve had the opportunity to share this passion in many settings, both in Japan and internationally.
I have extensive experience in English conversation classes, technical training, and creating educational materials. My journey includes:
- Japan: Teaching English conversation at NOVA to small groups, preparing student assessments, and delivering engaging demo lessons.
- China: Training technicians in hardware and software troubleshooting while developing training programs and procedures.
- Australia: Founding a software training school where I designed curriculums, created teaching materials, and produced comprehensive user manuals.
In my spare time, I lead the "Kyoto Coffee Club," a monthly English discussion group that combines conversation practice with creative, thought-provoking activities. This volunteer work has been a rewarding way to help people connect in English through relaxed, enjoyable conversations over coffee.
To help students reach their goals, I have over 500 challenging lessons available, many with video components, covering:
- Vocabulary and Grammar
- Listening Comprehension and Speaking Fluency
- Reading Comprehension
Currently, I am teaching part-time and aim to provide 10 to 12 lessons per week. I look forward to helping you build confidence in English, improve your skills, and enjoy the journey of learning this wonderful language!
