Nice to meet you! I am KIKO, a Japanese language tutor from Nagasaki, Japan. Since a child, I had always been interested in foreign cultures due to my surrounding environment. I used to love English when I was younger, but when I entered school, English turned out to be my greatest weakness, and it was not until I was over 20 that I became able to speak a foreign language. Nevertheless, I continued to pursue what I loved, and when I was a university student, I went to Spain to study abroad. The reason was not because I enjoyed flamenco or Gaudi, but rather because I liked Spanish soccer players. So, although it might be a bit unusual for someone in Japan, my second foreign language is Spanish. Through meeting friends who were studying Japanese in Spain, I became interested in teaching Japanese. I doubt I would be here now without that experience. I became a certified Japanese language tutor in 2021 and have been passionately teaching Japanese for 3 years. This year, I moved my base to Europe to teach beginner level Japanese grammar and Japanese culture lessons. Currentuly, I'm back to Nagasaki. Through this job, I have been able to meet students from all over the world through online platforms, and my daily life has been filled with opportunities to learn new things.

But I don’t have the motivation...I don’t want to forget the Japanese I studies...I want to learn to speak Japanese!” etc, if you are interested in learning Japanese, my lessons are perfect for you. I am good at teaching beginner level grammar and conversational Japanese lessons. Although I can speak three languages so far, I learned these foreign languages the hard way. I think everyone learns a foreign language in a different way, but the most important thing for me was output. 【Beginner-level Grammar: A0~A2】
The main feature of my beginner-level grammar lessons is that they offer both a “fun” and “practical” learning experience using original slides based on the textbook “Genki.” These lessons are very popular amongst students because they do not require textbooks, but are taught using my original teaching materials. I can explain in English or Spanish, so anyone who is an absolute beginner are also welcome to join! I also welcome students who are serious about learning Japanese, and who want to learn for the long term.
In my conversational lessons (for intermediate to advanced level students), you can learn “real life Japanese” that Japanese speakers actually use in conversation. The goal is to learn natural Japanese that aren't typically found in textbooks. I don’t want you to leave mistakes as they are, so I will fix you verbally or through chat on the spot.
【Travel Japanese: A0~A1】
I have prepared PDF files for travel Japanese. In this lesson, you can study Japanese for traveling (such as how to order, go shopping, asking directions and basic manners etc...).
【Conversation practice: A1~C2】
I offer two conversation-based lessons: Free-talking and Topic-based chat. In my Topic-based chat, you will learn Japanese by reading articles or watching Youtube videos prior to the lesson.
Learn natural Japanese while conversing in Japanese with a native tutor. To avoid repeating the same mistake, if you make any mistakes, I will let you know on the spot by typing it into the chat or verbally tell you.
