Hi there, I’m Hyunmee! Thank you for visiting my profile. I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and I have a passion for exploring different cultures, meeting people from all over the world, and, of course, teaching Korean.
 
As someone who has mastered the Japanese language, I understand both the joys and challenges of learning a new language. It’s a deeply rewarding experience that not only opens up new perspectives but also brings lasting enjoyment. Learning Japanese has enriched my life, and I’m confident that learning Korean will do the same for you!



I have lived and worked as a Korean language instructor in both Osaka and Sapporo, Japan. Before moving to Japan, I completed a Korean teacher training program at Ewha Womans University. While I haven’t obtained the national teaching certification yet, I have gained substantial experience and knowledge in Korean language education. I am a patient and supportive teacher, and I provide clear examples to help students practice effectively.

 

With a major in Japanese from both my undergraduate and graduate studies, I am able to explain concepts clearly in Japanese. Although I’m not fully fluent in English, I always do my best to communicate when necessary.

 

My lessons are tailored to each student's needs and interests. For beginners, I use structured textbooks to guide you systematically through the basics. You’ll start by learning the Korean alphabet (Hangul) and progress through essential skills, including grammar, reading, speaking, listening, and writing.

 

 

For students with prior experience in Korean, I offer conversation-focused lessons, allowing you to practice real-life dialogues with a native speaker. If your goal is to become a more fluent speaker, I can help with pronunciation, which is often a challenge for intermediate learners. Don’t worry—I am a skilled pronunciation coach and can help you improve your speaking ability.
