Hello! My name is Yoshi. I’m a former teacher currently living in the UK.
I am professional English tutor who specializes in teaching English to the Japanese people having native-level English skills and high knowledge in second language learning.
・I want to improve my daily conversation in English.
・I want to improve my English skills in order to be able to living abroad.
・I want to be able to say what I want to say in English without hesitation.
・I want to be able to speak logically in English.
・I’ve tried various English study methods but it didn’t go well.
My lessons are made for those who feel like the above.
※Currently I can no longer accept requests on language exam preparation lesson for new students.
【Yoshi’s lesson flow】
Students who continue to take my lessons are asked to submit an original assignment called "Meta cognitive Writing" every day.
Based on the submitted content, we will identify areas that need improvement and incorporate them into the online lesson.
I would like to work on “identifying your weaknesses & overcoming them" rather than just following a prepared curriculum.
By repeating this process, you can steadily acquire and improve your English skills.
What is "Meta cognitive Writing"?
The submitted assignments can be found in this column: https://cafetalk.com/column/read/?id=224732&lang=ja
As of 1/2022, a total of 400 submissions have been made!
Everyone's English is getting so much better.
・I'm currently writing a column about how it should be done.
・Until I finish the column, I will explain the process in the free “English study method-consulting” lesson.
What is Yoshi’s “Speciality in Second Language Acquisition”?
I have a Master of Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching (MA TESOL) from a graduate school in England and I can help you on improving your English based on scientific evidence.
There are many qualifications for teaching languages, but one of the most specialized is the MA TESOL.
As of 2021/12, there are only 4 teachers on Cafetalk with this certificate, including myself, out of 1500 English language tutors.
It is difficult for an ordinary Japanese person to suddenly start teaching Japanese tomorrow, isn't it?
In order to bring results as a tutor, you need to be fluent in the language and know how to teach it properly. Having an MA TESOL is proof of this specialty.
【English Question Box to Yoshi】
Even if you have never taken my lessons before, I am open to any questions you may have about learning English.
I am accepting anonymous questions from the form below.
I will try to answer to most of them in the tutor column.

【Strengths as a tutor on Cafetalk】
①Work experience as a teacher
I have four years of experience as a junior and senior high school English teacher in Japan, and some of my past students have been accepted to overseas universities.
I can provide a wide range of lessons based on my experience as a teacher.
②Rich overseas experience
I have lived in the U.S. for five years, France for six months, and I am currently in my second year of living in the UK.
I am also familiar with English-speaking cultures and native phrases.
③Theory-Based English Training
I have a Master of Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching (MA TESOL). I can help you on improving your English based on scientific evidence.
Just as not all Japanese people can teach Japanese well, not all people with overseas experience and good English skills are the best English teachers.
④Reliable Japanese tutor
Please feel free to ask any questions or make any requests.
I will prepare personalized lessons for each one of you.
【What you can do in Yoshi’s lesson】
①"Study skills training" for higher grades in school
If you want to know how to improve your school performance, the best way is to get help from your school teachers.
Yoshi, as a former teacher, will fully support you in improving your grades.
Not only do I provide study guidance, but I will also train you to learn how to study and how to plan, so that you can eventually keep having good grades on your own.
②No English Proficiency required "Speak easily from the first try, English conversation training”
We can speak in English on any topic you like, adjusting to your English ability.
You first need to make a habit of using English and build a foundation of English proficiency!
③Advice on overseas university entrance exams
I will share all the information I know about taking entrance exams for overseas universities, based on my experience of being accepted to my first choice schools for both overseas universities and overseas graduate schools, as well as my experience as a teacher supporting students in taking entrance exams for overseas universities.
Parents are also welcome to attend.
