Hello, my name is Kai.
I love Japanese language and culture, and have been studying Japanese for 15 years. In 2008, I passed the JLPT Level 1, and again in 2021 I passed the same level. I have taught daily conversation in Taiwanese and the Chinese Proficiency Test Level 2, as well as correcting HSK essays.
The concept of my lessons is to help students learn to speak Taiwanese Hokkien in an enjoyable way. Of course, I will be flexible and adapt to the level and learning purposes of the students, whether they want to strengthen their Taiwanese Hokkien pronunciation or learn daily conversation that they can use when traveling to Taiwan.
I will do my best to support my students.

I am from Tainan, Taiwan and i currently live in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Have you ever been to Taiwan?
My interests include traveling, enjoying gourmet food, admiring watches, running, etc. I have been running for a long time, but due to a leg injury, I am not doing much running at the moment. I even joined the Kyoto Marathon. I was very tired, but I was very moved by the support of so many citizens. The cheers of “Go for it!” and “Keep going!” continued throughout the marathon. I was high-fiving everyone as I ran. Even though it took me a long time to finish the marathon, and even though my knees hurt after it, it was worthwhile.
I have been visiting Japan for the past few years for family vacations. In 2019 I went visited the Kansai and Hokuriku region in Japan. We went to Lake Biwa, Himeji Castle, Kanazawa, and many other places. The most impressive part was the Gassho-Zukuri in Shirakawago. When I visited, it was snowing and everything I saw was pure white. In 2020, I visited Yokohama, Kamakura, Enoshima, Hakone, and Kawaguchiko. Next time, I would like to visit Okayama.
My favorite Japanese foods are Gyu-tan (beef tongue), beef cutlet, tempura, and sushi. They are all very delicious. I also enjoy Japanese TV programs. I especially like variety shows because they are interesting and always have subtitles on the screen. Recently, I’ve been enjoying shows like “Go Home Monday (帰れマンデー),” “Monday Night Live (月曜から夜ふかし),” “Wednesday Downtown (水曜日のダウンタウン),” “Shabekuri 007 (しゃべくり007),” and “Itte Q (イッテQ).” I also like quiz shows, such as “Tonight is Nazotore (今夜はナゾトレ)” and “Kurimu Quiz! Miracle 9 (くりぃむクイズ！ミラクル9).”
I passed the N1 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. I think I can speak everyday conversation, but I want to be better at it, so I practiced Japanese conversation through Cafetalk. With this experience, I would like to teach Taiwanese Hokkien to more students.
