Ray Roshdy Tutor Profile

Hello everyone!

My name is Ray and I'm a Trinity TESOL certified English teacher.

  • Why I Started Teaching

A couple of years ago, I started volunteer teaching, helping Koreans and Germans learn English and Arabic online, because I love languages, and it was a fun way for me to pass time and make friends. And that was when I realized how much I loved teaching.

I enjoyed the process of teaching and putting lessons together, so much so that I decided to study this academically, get certified, and turn this into a full time job, despite initially majoring in electrical and telecommunications engineering.

  • My Teaching Method

The environment in my classes is always fun and friendly. Even though I usually only teach adults, I believe having fun and creating a lesson that is interesting and engaging is as important when teaching adults as it is teaching kids.

My priority in each lesson is to set a clear and an achievable goal that is relevant to the student's needs, and that by the end of each lesson, the student successfully achieves that goal.

Availabilty on Cafetalk

As you can see, my current available slots are limited at the moment on my profile, because my schedule changes a lot.

But feel free to message me, if you want to take a lesson and the available slots aren't suitable for you.

I would happily arrange a time that works for you.

  • My Hobbies and Interests

Apart from teaching, I also love writing. I started writing fiction around the age of seven and it has been a passion of mine ever since. In 2018, I decided to pursue a different writing path and started blogging, writing expository articles on different topics from finance and business to mental health (therayjourney.com). I even published an e-book sometime in 2019 on self-publishing and marketing.

Seen here "working" on my e-book.

My other hobbies include sketching, which I really enjoy despite not being great at. I need to practice more...

A sketch inspired by Attack on Titan.

Reading is another activity I enjoy, especially mystery novels and classic literature, and I indulge in a lot of non-fiction books as well, from self-improvement to philosophy.

I love music and have been learning the piano for a few months now. Back when I was in school, I used to play the violin too.

Languages are another passion of mine (obviously). I used to be fluent in German when I was in school. Last year, I tried to learn Korean, and I did make some pretty decent progress, but then I stopped practicing and now, unfortunately, I forgot everything again!

My passions are mainly music, art, writing, and languages, so you will always find me indulging in something related to one of those areas.

Do more of what makes you happy, right?

Oh, did I mention I love nature and traveling too?
