Hi there! My name is Birgitta, and I live in South Africa.
When I was very young I loved reading, and soon found that English was by far my favorite subject! I decided to dig into learning English, and now many years later I am helping other people do the same thing. My mother and grandmother were both teachers, so it seems like teaching was simply in my genes!
I attained a bachelors degree specializing in Psychology and Child and Youth Development. I kept studying Applied Psychology and ended up writing a short book, thesis, and a few journal articles. While I was doing this I worked as a tutor homeschooling a number of different children, with ages from 6 years to 18 years. I used pre-set curriculums or designed my own, but the most important thing was to make sure students were able to learn in the ways that worked for them.
Learning a new language can be scary, but I am here to help you along your journey. No matter how old or young, I can provide you with helpful lessons to boost your confidence, and take your language skills to the next level! I look forward to hearing from you!

Since English was always my favorite subject I decided to get a TEFL certificate to learn how to teach English as a second language, specifically online. Since then I have been teaching adults and children of all ages on various platforms, and have loved every minute of it!
The secret ingredients to good lessons are kindness, patience, and being creative! Making lessons fun means that they are memorable to the students, and that's the ultimate goal. I want my students to feel comfortable and to be themselves. Lessons can be as fast or slow as the student wants, and together we can adapt lessons to make them harder or easier if necessary. I want the student to end the lesson feeling like they learned at least one thing, and feeling confident in their learning journey!Learning a new language can be scary, but I am here to help you along your journey.
