Hello!
I graduated from Mcmaster University from the engineering department. While I was completeing my studies, I was also tutoring students in English, math, and science when I found that I really enjoyed teaching. A couple of years after graduating, I applied for a teaching position in a Canadian highschool thinking that I would probably never get it, but to my surprise, I did! After spending that time teaching my students and seeing the joy in their faces, I knew that teaching was what I was meant to do.
I have lived in 6 different countries long term across 4 continents, and visited many more. I would love to pass on anything I can to my students to help them grow from whatever I have learned on my travels alongside their learning goals, so feel free to ask!
Teaching Background
During my university years, I was tutoring young students for a tutoring academy, Teaching Gurus, for about 5 years. I taught multiple students math, science, and English to help them improve in their creative writing and presentation.
After my university studies, I spent 2 years teaching at a highschool school in Canada, where I taught math, science, and religious studies to students from grade 6 all the way to grade 12. I found that my students were very eager for me to enter the classroom and I enjoyed teaching both the younger and older students.
Throughout this time, I was also teaching English privately to help improve speaking and listening skills, including vocabulary, grammar, and pronounciation. I decided to get a TEFL qualification to improve my ability to teach.
Teaching Details:
I enjoy and welcome teaching students of all ages and always adjust my lessons to make them suited for their age and experience. My lessons are flexible and I would like to get to know you and where you are at before we get deeper into the lessons to make sure your needs are always met.
I enjoy having discussions about whatever might interest you and we can always include that in any lesson!
