Hello, my name is “
제이 민, J Min” It is a pleasure to meet you!!!
I was born in Seoul and have lived in Seoul all my life. Therefore, I speak in a “서울 말씨, Seoul dialect” which is the standard Korean pronunciation, and I do not speak in any dialect.
I graduated from Seoul National University, South Korea, and received my MA in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick, U.K.
I worked as a civil servant for almost 30 years until 2023.
I wanted to become a Korean language teacher who teaches languages to non-native speakers, just like in TESOL, so I completed the
Korean Language Teacher Training Course at the
“International Language Education Institute of Seoul National University of Arts and Culture” in 2012. Then in 2014, I
passed the Korean Language Teacher Level 3 Examination organized by the
National Language Institute of Korea, and became certified as a Korean language teacher.
After retiring from public service in 2023, I have been
teaching Korean face-to-face in Seoul
since 2024 with
people from various countries such as Japan, China, France, Spain, and Russia. In the process, I realized that while students studying Korean learn basic grammar at school,
it is very important for them to have the opportunity to review and further improve their Korean language skills through face-to-face conversations with native speakers.
I would love to meet with you online and help you learn Korean.
The most important thing is to
make learning fun and interesting for the students, while also adapting the lesson content to their
level. For this reason, I have prepared the following lessons.
- Students, from beginner to intermediate to advanced levels, will learn vocabulary and expressions while speaking about topics that interest them.
- Conversation topics will be presented based on level/lesson, and students will topics of their interest. They will be provided with realted study materials in advance.- Students will learn vocabulary and expressions through conversations on topics related to business, work life, current events & news, and by reading and talking about short newspaper columns.
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced-level student,
please feel free to join me and have fun speaking together.
Just by meeting and talking with your new Korean friend can help you gain confidence in communicating in Korean.
