yongyong Tutor Profile

Hello, I’m Yong, a Korean language tutor on Cafetalk. I am delighted to meet all of you.

To begin with, In recent years, I have seen people’s interests in Korean culture increase, and I am both delighted and honored to have the opportunity to teach Korean to all of you.

I studied chemistry at a Korean university. I am currently doing research at a graduate school related to natural product chemistry (pharmacology) in Japan to pursue further studies. I have been in Japan for around 5 years, and although I am not at a native level yet, I can speak some Japanese, so I can communicate with people who are learning Korean for the first time, as well as assisting their studies to make it slightly easier through my own experience of learning another language and experiencing difficulties.
I would like to talk about my interests. I love badminton and have been playing since I was a high school student. When I was a university student, I even formed a badminton club and was involved in its activities. I have also continued playing it even after going on to study in a Japanese university, but have not been able to play it very much recently.
I also really like to read manga. Whenever I have some spare time, I always read manga. I read all kinds of manga, both Korean and Japanese. I would be rejoiced if you have the same interests.

I also enjoy cooking. When I was living in South Korea, I did not cook at all, but when I came to Japan, I wanted to have Korean food, and before I knew it, it became my hobby, and I can cook almost any Korean food. If there is any food you would like to try, please let me know. I can teach you how to make those dishes.

Lastly, I would like to talk about how I teach Korean. Although I am currently studying in graduate school, I mostly study on my own instead of going to a lot of lectures, so I can adjust our lessons to fit your schedule. I don’t know what will happen in the near future, but since I don’t have any students at the moment, you may think I am an inexperienced tutor, but since I will have a small number of students, I will be able to better understand the level of my students and can customize my lessons to meet their needs as well. I will strive to be a tutor who understands the personalities of my students and prepare the best lessons for them.

Thank you for reading my profile this far.
