Hi everyone, my name is Ralph. I started teaching ESL to newcomers in Canada to help them settle in to their new life. Later I moved to Japan and continued teaching English at language schools and corporations, both onsite and online. I am now using the Cafe Talk platform to teach students privately.

My lessons are relaxed and enjoyable, as I believe students are more motivated and build confidence when they are enjoying the learning process. As your skills and confidence grow, you will be encouraged to keep levelling up at your own pace, by constantly challenging yourself to do so.

I have a curriculum and lesson plan which I have used successfully. However, both can be customized to meet individual student needs. I can create content or use content suggested by the student. Whichever path you choose, I am confident that you will be able to apply what you learn in my lessons to benefit both your personal and professional life.



I have a BFA in Drama in Education, as well as diplomas in Paralegal and Small Business Development. I also have more than 15 years teaching experience.

I offer lessons at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, and my students range from middle school to adults of all ages.

You can take lessons in Guided Conversation, Business English, Legal English, Presentation Skills, Facilitating Meetings, and Academic Support [Essay Writing Development]. You will be able to improve your comprehension, ability to summarize content, vocabulary, grammar, ask and answer questions, sentence construction, listening skills, and natural conversation skills.

After request is confirmed (fixed)

  • Less than 24hours before lesson start time.→ 100% of price charged.
  • Between 24-48hours before lesson start time.→ 50% of price charged.
  • No-Show→ 100% of price charged.
