みなさん、こんにちは！私の名前はIstvan(イシュトバン)です。

Steve(スティーブ)とも呼ばれています。ハンガリー出身で、趣味は旅行、教えること、山登りそして人と会話することです。
日本で働くようになって２年になります。日本に来る前は、イギリスで暮らしており、博士を取得した後大学で働いていました。哲学、倫理、心理学について研究をしています。他にも、言語学、文化、文学、ビジネスにも興味があります。
教えることは、私にとって特別なことです。生徒さんからエネルギーをもらえるし、私は生徒さんが目標を達成できるように手助けをできることを幸せに感じるからです。英語を初めて間もない人も、大事な試験のために勉強している人も、ただ英語を話せるようになりたい人も、気軽にトライしてみましょう。できる限りのサポートをします。
私の性格は優しくて、落ち着いています。文法の練習、単語の取得、コミュニケーションスキルの上達を特に得意としています。
私は、小学校、高校、大学で教えた経験があり、ビジネス英語のクラスを持ったこともあります。
どの年齢、どのレベルの生徒さんともたのしくレッスンできます。IELTSやTOEFLの勉強も一緒にできます。

I have been living and working in Japan for two years. I recently completed a 2 year Japan Society for the Promotion of Science postdoctoral research fellowship at Keio University, Tokyo.

Before that, I lived in England, where I completed my PhD in Oxford and at Hertfordshire, and worked in business administration and management.

By training, I'm a professional English teacher and a university researcher in Philosophy. I have been teaching English and Philosophy for more than 10 years.
I taught English in a primary school and online for 2 years to children between ages 5 to 13.
I taught English and Philosophy at junior high and high school level for four years.
And I've been teaching and tutoring adult learners and university students in English, Philosophy, Business English and Academic and Writing Skills for more than 10 years.

During the past years I've taught 'Social Design: Inclusive and Ethical Planning for Engineers', 'Moral Psychology', 'Free Will: Science, Philosophy and Psychology', 'Philosophy of Action: AI and Mind', 'Epistemology: Self-Knowledge' and other BA and MA level courses.
 
I'm also regularly supervising and tutoring university students and high school students.
I'm working with students in: Philosophy, English Language, English Literature (covering the contemporary and historical literature of British, American, and other English speaking countries), Educational Theory, Psychology, and introductory level Business and Marketing.
 
Teaching is important to me because students are always inspiring. It gives me energy when my students are doing well! I like to help people, and assist them in achieving their goals. Maybe you are just starting to learn English. Maybe you're already preparing for an important exam. Or maybe you just want to practice and improve your skills a bit. In any case, I would be very happy to support you and help you on your journey.

My strengths are patience and kindness. I am especially good at helping you with pronunciation and grammar practice, vocabulary building, Business and Academic English, and improving general communication and intercultural skills.

I'm happy to work with students of any age and level. With young learners I can do playful sessions, using entertaining rhymes, poems, movement, and short videos. With learners who are more experienced I'm happy to talk about any topic, to help improve Academic and Business English skills, or to prepare for exams or tests, like IELTS or TOEFL.
