Greetings! My name is Michael and I am from Indiana, a Midwestern state in the United States. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, History, and Political Science. I also have a minor in English. When I am not busy with school work, I like to play video games, watch anime, read books, and listen to music.
A core component of my teaching philosophy is that the lesson should be entertaining. If a student is bored, then they will certainly not enjoy the lesson nor will they retain the information they learned.
I have been an ESL teacher for over 3 years. I have taught students from all over Asia, including Taiwan, Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. In 2017, I received my 140-hour TEFL certificate and became certified to teach ESL.
My teaching style is very conversational. I am interested in preparing students to have real conversations in English. This means that I will teach you slang, inflection, speaking skills, grammar, and listening skills. I am also interested in helping students learn academic English. If you plan to study abroad in the English-speaking world, I can help you with your English skills!
