Hello everyone)))

My name is Anna and I am working as an ESL online tutor. I have 2 Master’s Degrees; one is in Translation and Teaching and the second is in Economics.

I’ve started my teaching career when I was still a student. And I was working as a Lecturer at the University, Faculty of Medicine. My major was Latin, and then I’ve got English and German classes. Most of the time I’ve been working with students from different countries: China, Japan, France, Poland, Ukraine, Russia etc. For the last 4 years and a half, I have been working online. Being an ESL teacher is great. I improve students’ language skills, so they will have great chances to get to know more people in the future, travel and get a great job with good opportunities for advancement.

 

I never feel more energized than after a class that has gone well. I am a proponent of active learning and use a variety of methods to encourage discussion. I love to make my lessons interesting and be enthusiastic about what I am doing. I don’t want my students to have a feeling that the study is a burden for them, it should be something they want and looking forward to doing. I like to help them to find the most exciting way to learn things because studying is a very responsible and interesting way to learn everything.

Teaching style:

 

There’s no single way to teach English and, in fact, there have been many popular approaches over the years. Using an appropriate mix of teaching styles helps students learn, grow, and become more independent. I typically structure each of my classes to include some amount of each teaching style: directing, discussing and delegating. I give information to the students via assigned readings, audio/visual presentations, demonstrations, role-playing, and other means. I also promote learning through interaction, which is my favourite style. Students learn to have opinions and to back them up with facts and data. The students can also get tasks that they work on independently. I try to find the approach to teaching that blends the personality and interests with students’ needs.  With younger students, I often use TPR, in which students react to the teacher with movement, such as miming, gesturing or acting out the language.

I specialize in: daily/business English conversations; TOEFL/IELTS preparation courses; translation work, pronunciation improvement.

My hobbies:

 I love exploring the world, so there are so many things I like. I'll tell you about a few of them:

 

Number one is, definitely, Traveling. And who are my travelling buddies??? My parents)))) We live far away from each other, so we enjoy spending time together.

Languages: I speak 4 languages, but planning to learn more. It is like an addiction, once you learn one. You don’t want to stop. 

Music/Movie: not all people are able to see the world with their own eyes, but you still can imagine or see breathtaking pictures and know that such things exist.

Books: My whole apartment is bookshelves. It’s a great way to learn new things and improve your knowledge.   

Teaching is incredibly inspiring and I am always ready to bring my skills and budding passion for English language teaching into the classroom. I completely devote myself to teaching and showing the love of being in the classroom.
