Having registered as a volunteer , City Cast , for the Tokyo Olympics 2020, I applied for early retirement with an aim to improving my Japanese proficiency before the event. Originally I was planning to study Japanese in Tokyo from April 2021, but due to the pandemic, foreigners cannot enter Japan. Nevertheless, bearing strong desire to polish my Japanese, I came to Tokyo in middle March this year and will be going to a Japanese language school soon.
I have been working in the banking and manufacturing industries in Taiwan for 19+ years and 6+ years respectively, for a total of over 25 years. I am an experienced IT professional and have provided excellent service to my users. The last company I worked for is a Swiss company and we need to communicate with the colleagues outside Taiwan in English. Besides, I once studied in London for one year for Msc degree. Four years ago, I also got the JLPT N1 certificate. Therefore, during learning Chinese (Mandarin), you may communicate with me in English or Japanese as and when necessary. if you like, I can also instruct you to speak Taiwanese.
Last but not least, I was once a student in Cafetalk. Based on this experience, I would like to let you know that you've come to the right place. Please seize the day enjoying the joyfulness of learning a foreign language.

I really enjoyed my first lesson! I was a little nervous to take a lesson as I am an absolute beginner, but teacher Tokuka explained in fluent English and Japanese so I could understand the basics very well. Pronunciation of Chinese is not easy at all, but he walked me through it until I could pronounce words properly. I cannot wait for the next lesson!
