My name is Jhenya. You can also call me Jane!

I'm delighted to meet you!


I'm a professional teacher, tutor and writer. I was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia and raised in the U.S. And I live on the coast of California.


I’m thrilled to share with you my passion for English, as a truly universal language. 


I love to work with wonderful people of all walks of life, from all corners of the world.

English and Russian are my native tongues, and I'm fluent in French, Italian and Spanish.


I hold a B.A. in French, with a minor in Italian from UCLA. And a Masters in Creative Writing from Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles. 

In our lessons, we can have conversations on infinite topics that spark you.


We can act out unique dialogues, share films, music, and much more!

 

Or create a uniquely tailored lesson or master class.

Beyond being a loving teacher and creator of language learning material, I'm also a devoted learner of world languages.

So I always understand the nuances, quirks and wonders of this journey.


My twin passion is the Art of Flamenco. I'm learning to play the ukulele, Brazilian Portuguese, and a bit of Japanese.

For decades, I’ve been creating and teaching foreign language lessons, mostly one-on-one.


I’ve taught countless online classes to students around the world, and feel incredibly comfortable and alive in this space.


It’s been a mosaic of experiences: 

Beyond one-on-one online and in-person, I’ve in-person taught community college courses, an independent course for the U.S. government, children’s enrichment programs and beyond!


I’m always inventing and sharing original, unique material, implementing only what sparks and interests you, my dear learners, and fulfills your essential needs in language!

As we share the wonders of the world and our beautiful, mysterious cultures!


My style of learning and teaching has always been intuitive, creative, devoted and relaxed. My goal and dream is for us to discover what sparks you and what you need most.
