Profilo di YUKI.

Hi everyone! My name is Yuki.
Thank you for showing interest in Go and thank you for visiting my page!

~Profile~

The reason why I started playing Go is because my father is a professional Go player and we always had Go in the house. I already knew the rules since I was a child.
Our family has been running a Go school for kids for more than 10 years and many Go players from our school have participated in national tournaments.

~Experience~

1991         I was born in Nagoya City.

2003~2007     I was an insei at The Nihon Ki-in in Nagoya

2008, 2010     I won first place in the Aichi Women's Amateur Go Tournament
participated in the National Go Tournament.

2014~2017       I was an insei at Kansai Ki-in.

After reading my experiences, you might still be confused so I'll do a little explanation about "insei".
"Insei" refers to people who want to become professional Go players.
In order to become a professional Go player, I've been an insei for a long time.
During which, I also did my practice at a dojo and Korea.
In other words, half of my life has been surrounded by Go.

~About Teaching~

My skill in Go is level 6(Level 8 ~ 9 online)now, but it took me quite some time to get to this level.
When I look back, I think I took a huge detour before I reached level 6.
Therefore, I hope I can use this experience to help you improve in the shortest time possible.
As each person has his or her own learning pace, there is no need to rush. I would like to share my learning experiences (for example things I wish someone had taught me earlier) so that you won't end up taking a detour.

You will always continue to learn when you play Go. Even after you become really good at Go, there is always something new to learn from the game. Therefore, I think it's important to learn and enjoy the process.

~About my lessons~

For beginners…
We'll start with a 6×6 board and I'll explain the rules. However, while I explain the rules the game would be over so I'll also go through the tactics you can use to win the game.

In the case of a 19 x 19 board…
A handicap game refers to a game where advantage is given to equalize the chances of winning. However, we won't be doing this during the lesson so you can utilize the skills you've learned.
We will mainly focus on how to play from the opening~midgame.
I can also teach you how to play the handicap game.

~Benefits of starting Go~

Go is a game where you'd show your feelings easily.

I think Go is also a kind of sport because if you make one mistake, you might end up making more mistakes. Just when you thought you've won the game but with one careless mistake, the whole thing can turn around in no time.

Go is a game that allows you to face yourself.
I feel that it becomes easier to control my emotions even when I'm not playing Go.

~Lastly~

Although the game of Go is a little complicated, I hope I can develop lessons that are fun for all!

When it comes to teaching Go, the "teaching manual" doesn't exist. In fact, I'm also discovering the best way to teach while I'm teaching it. I will continue to figure out my ideal "complete form of  teaching", and I hope I can develop an easier way to explain the way of Go so that students can enjoy the fun of it.

Please give it a try!
I'm looking forward to meeting you!

※Before the lesson, please install a software called "Fox Go (野狐囲碁)".We can also play in these softwares: Go Kids 2・Toyo Go・Yugen no Ma.Let's give it a try.
