When I was belonging to an a cappella group in a club activity of the university, I had an opportunity to sing a theme song of Pokemon in a afterschool facility. We were just the generation of that song, so we believed that most of children should've known this song. The short answer is, NO, alsmost nobody knew about the song. Well of course, the song was released when I was 6 years old or something, and I was singing in fron ot children around the same age when I was 21 or something, it's been 15 years, the theme song has been changed so many times of course... This is the ganaration difference I felt, they don't know the beginning of Pokemon now, but I'm happy that they enjoy their own version!
大学のアカペラサークルに所属していた時、児童館でポケモンのテーマソングを歌う機会がありました。私たちはちょうどその曲の世代で、ほとんどみんながこの曲を知っているだろうと思っていました。端的に言うと、その逆、ほとんどの子がその曲を知らなかったのです。それもそのはず、その曲がリリースされたの私か私が6歳ごろのこと、当時の私と同じくらいの年の子どもに、21歳の私が歌っていて、15年もたっているのですから、テーマソングが何度も変わっていくのは当たり前のこと...これが私が感じたジェネレーションギャップ、今の子どもたちはポケモンの初代を知りませんが、彼らは彼らの好きなポケモンを楽しんでくれたらいいのではないかなと思います。
