Hello, everyone! How are you today? It's Teacher Asuka.
Today, I'm going to talk about 'Highly Sensitive Person'. Have you ever heard of this word?
Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) is a person, who has a special characteristic or personality for reacting sounds and smells very much as well as feeling him/herself as others feel.
The American psychologist, Dr. Elaine Aron first introduced us that HSP is not a sickness as well as disabled almost 25 years ago. She also told us HSP has 15-20% of total population and have been misunderstood as shy, unsure, or timid, not newly found.
HSP has four main characteristics as follows.
1.Collecting information deeply: they try to understand each meaning of just number like phones.
2. Very sensitive for all sounds around: for instance, HSP tends to feel every sound noise pollution.
3. Sympathizing how others feel deeply: for example, they feel sad when their children came home sadly, which caused unhealthy, palpitation and breathlessness.
4. Reacting just trivial things, impetus: HSP is highly stressed by them such as a combination of white wall, white paper, and fluorescent light.
As above, I suppose that HSP faces every worry or trouble in daily life and should have some efficient ways and tools to stay calm beforehand. It might be a good idea such HSP understand themselves and make the most of such characteristics in every opportunity.
It seems that people surrounded need to understand and receive such people in all circumstances because HSP is known as not a sickness and disabled, but just a personality or characteristic. To solve these problems, we should take care of each other, understanding our differences at least.
Tolerances are a must in all human relationships!
Thank you for joining me as usual.
See you next time.
