Food photos from the best restaurants in Milan *DROOL!*

Yara

Hello everyone!

Last week, I spent a few days in Milano with my mother! She flew in from Lebanon, and I flew in from Vienna.

Milano is known as the fashion capital of the world, or at least, of Italy!
And it definitely was.

Everybody was extremely chic and well-dressed.

More importantly for me, the food in Italy is EPIC.

It was ridiculously good!

Here are some photos, I thought I'd share with you all!

In 5 days, we checked out three Italian places, (one of which was VERY good), one Michelin star Japanese restaurant (insanely good), and a Chinese dim sum place, called Dim Sum. (LOL original, right?)

Honestly, thank god we walked and shopped so much, otherwise, I definitely would've gained weight. (Actually, it's a miracle that I didn't gain any weight.)

So, without further ado, here they are:

1. Iyo - Japanese Michelin in Milan

2. Italian restaurants

This is scampi - which I think is the same as langoustines.

3. The Dim Sum place!

My personal favourite was a dim sum with edamame cream and truffles. YUM!

VOCABULARY:

chic - fashionable
epic - real meaning is: heroic or grand - but modern-day slang means cool/amazing
ridiculously good - ridiculous means unbelievable
insanely good - insane means crazy, so 'crazy good'
checked out - phrasal verb, in this context it means we tried/looked at/'investigate'

Without further ado =(pronounced 'a doo') without waiting any longer. This phrase is used in films and 'theatrics' a lot!

NOTE: When talking about food, saying 'it was so good' is much more natural than saying 'it was so delicious'!

What's the best restaurant you've ever been to? Where was it? What did you have there?

I had a otoro, and I was amazed as soon as I put it in my mouth. It was rich like butter, but not greasy, and melted in my mouth. The sushi restaurant was famous for its delicious tuna. The experience was about 30 years ago, but I still haven't had a otoro since then.

Hi Yara, I could tell that you had a wonderful time with your mother in Milan. I can imagine your happy faces. Thanks for sharing the epic dishes. When I look at them, I admired their beauty, and they even make my mouth water! By the way, when it comes to sushi, I will never forget the sushi I had at the sushi restaurant “Suehiro zushi”, in Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

Yes Hidemi, excellent question, you used it perfectly! Chic can also be talking about a place that is stylish/cool/has a nice vibe! (おしゃれ)

I have a question about "chic." Do you happen to use the word for only people's clothes? I meant it in the comment, "Good vibe restaurant."

we were there. We had a good call to book in advance. Thank you for sharing nice pictures. Sushi looks beautiful and kind of like an art. Have a nice rest of weekend, Yara.

Hi Yara, I don't have so much time to eat out besides my family, but l met my friends and ate lunch last weekend. There was no place around there that had such a long line. I ate pancake with extra butter. It was insanely fluffy and so good. I was craving for pancake, and wanted to focus on hunging out with my friends at that time. So looking back, I forgot to check out what kind of restaurant it was. However, the restaurant looked chic, and the long line lasted all the time while
