Learn a sloooooooow phrase...

Yishu H.

Hello, and welcome to Speak good English with me, Yishu. Still, today is our “a piece of authentic real day”. So, let’s begin!  When someone walks slowly, other people have to wait for them. Learn an English phrase that describes this action metaphorically.

When someone is preventing or delaying something happening, it can be described as to slow walk something. Very simple and easy to remember. right?

Let’s hear some examples to have a better understanding.

  • He decided to slow walk the decision on the plans, so we can’t move forward.
  • The company is slow walking in responding to a complaint I made three weeks ago.
  • The council are continuing to slow walk their discussions about finance, so we won’t get our funding in time.

You’re listening to Speak good English with Yishu, and we’re talking about the expression ‘slow walk’. We use this expression to mean delay something or prevent it from progressing.

Ok, that's our piece of authentic English for today. See you soon. Bye bye~
