A message from Anne Shirley

Teacher Asuka

Hello Everyone! How are you today? This is Teacher Asuka.

Today, I’m going to share with you a special quote that I like the most; ‘ Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it’. Have you ever heard of that?

You can find the dialogue in a book or in a film called 'Anne of Green Gables' written by L.M. Montgomery. I think some of you will be familiar with this story.

One of the main characters in the book is an orphan called Anne Shirley, who is taken in and brought up by an unknown Cuthbert family.

When Matthew Cuthbert, who lived with his younger sister Marilla at Green Gables in Canada, grew old, he needed someone to help him on his farm. They decided to take a little boy from the orphanage.

However, he got a little girl by some mistake. But by mistake he got a girl called Anne, who he met at the railway station, who looked thin and had a long red hair. She was also imaginative and talkative. The Cuthbert family were reluctant to take Anne in at first but were persuaded by her dedication to stay at Green Gables and eventually raised her in their home.

As Anne grew up, she faced many difficulties such as the breakup of her best friend, Diana and the death of Matthew, but she overcame these adversities with the support of those around her and her natural brightness. Whenever she faced such adversity, she would encourage herself by saying 'Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it.  That is why I was so touched the dialogue.

My name 'Asuka' includes the meaning ' Best wishes and possibility for tomorrow', so I felt familiar with this quote.

Thank you for joining me as always.

See you next time!
