先日、仲間内で新紙幣についての話になりました。
新千円札、新五千円札、新一万円札…人物名をフルネームで皆でなんとか言えたものの、具体的に何をやった人なのかという話になったとたんみんな記憶喪失に（笑）
紙幣の人物はその国にとっての重要人物であるはずなのに、日本人として知らないのは恥ずかしい。
海外の人に聞かれて答えられないのも悔しい。
…ということで、今日は新紙幣の人物についてまとめてみました。
今回は紙幣に関する表現をピックアップしました。

The people whose faces are printed on banknotes are supposed to be great figures of a country.
紙幣に顔が印刷されている人物は一国の偉人であるはずだよ。

細菌学者の野口英世は、黄熱病と梅毒の研究で有名です。

彼のひげと髪型が特徴的なため、彼の紙幣を偽造するのは困難です。
⑦ hail 歓迎して迎える
She was hailed as a genius but died of pulmonary tuberculosis at the young age of 24.
天才と讃えられたが、肺結核のため24歳の若さで亡くなった。
⑧ a large sum of money 大金
When a large sum of money disappears, it is also called '' Yukichi-san flew away.''
大金が消えることを「諭吉さんが飛んだ」とも言う。
⑨ issue 発行する
This is the 2000 yen bill issued as a commemorative banknote in 2000.
こちらは2000年に記念紙幣として発行された2000円札です。
⑩ depict （生き生きと強く）描く
The individual depicted on the 1000 yen bill is Shibasaburo Kitasato.
新千円札に描かれるのは、北里柴三郎です。

The 2000 yen bill is a commemorative banknote, so it is no longer issued, but it can be used as regular money.
二千円札は記念紙幣なので現在は発行されていませんが、普通のお金として使えます。
新紙幣、ちょっと楽しみです。
７月以降は私の財布に、栄一さん・梅子さん・柴三郎さんがたくさん入ればいいな～
