How are you spending your free time this summer? Are you the person wanting to keep busy every day, or are you looking forward to slowing down and doing as little as possible? I am certainly the latter, my ideal day is staying in bed and reading books!
However, the summer is a perfect opportunity for us to either try something new or get back into a hobby that we may not give as much attention to at other times of the year. We work so hard and for many hours a day that a lot of our time outside of work is spent resting or looking after our families. It is not often that we get time for ourselves.
As the weather is always unpredictable here in the UK, I am hoping to reengage in some of the hobbies that I can do indoors. For example, I have stacks of books and video games that are just gathering dust, so maybe this is the perfect chance to open them up and give them some use! I am also not the best cook in the world, so maybe I can take the time to learn how to prepare some healthier meals rather than just taking packets out of the freezer and putting them in the microwave.
Of course, we also have the opportunity to try something a bit more adventurous. While I am not brave enough to start skydiving or anything like that, I have wanted to go back to rock climbing for a long time. Is the summer the ideal motivation and incentive that I need to get back into it?
