Keep Going - Mental Plateaus

Brian R.

Hello everybody!

I wanted to share my thoughts with about learning "plateaus."

All of us, tutors and learners alike, go through learning and teaching "ruts" or "plateaus."

This means that after a while of learning or teaching a new lanbguage or skill we start to lose motivation and drive to keep going.

I know sometimes this happens to me. As a learner and a teacher I sometimes find myself depleted of energy and motivation.

Somedays I just need to take a break.

Sometimes it is better to step back a little and look at what your doing from a different perspective in order to gain valuable insight on how to get over the mental plateau.

That is really what a plateau is. It is all mental.

If you ever feel yourself drained of motivation to keep learning more and keep pursuing your goals, just take moment and step back. Put the project down for a moment and go do something else that you enjoy. Then, when you are ready, you can come back and pick it up again.

I am not an expert, but it works for me :).

Happy Sunday and happy learning everyone.

Brian R.
